About the Role

The position supports the UK R&D Systems Department with a focus on system integration, product engineering, application knowledge, and product compliance. The role involves managing Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical drawings, and documentation to facilitate the transition of products from development to production.

Responsibilities

  • Support prototype builds, component sourcing, procurement coordination, and design validation.
  • Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical, mechanical, and cable drawings.
  • Manage the controlled transfer of product designs and engineering updates into production.
  • Prepare assembly and test documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining technical construction files (TCF) for regulatory testing and compliance (e.g., CE, UKCA, RCM, UL).
  • Contribute to systems integration and hardware development through technical coordination.
  • Evaluate and integrate new components, technologies, and third-party equipment.
  • Perform first-level triage of product issues and quality observations.
  • Document engineering activities, technical issues, and solutions to support knowledge sharing.
  • Support general R&D Systems Department activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Electrical) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • 1-3 years of experience preparing and maintaining BOMs, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience with engineering change processes and controlled document management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and cable drawings.
  • Understanding of product development lifecycles, BOMs, and part number systems.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic and electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to read electronics schematics and identify common components.
  • Awareness of engineering change control and revision management.
  • Basic understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements for electronic products.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Intercultural competence and experience collaborating with multinational teams.
