About the Role

The Healthcare Assistant Project Manager will manage Capital Program Management/Owners Representative assignments, representing the owner and stakeholders in the delivery of projects for healthcare clients in Brooklyn. This role involves managing design professionals and contractors in the construction of healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bio life science facilities, overseeing all project phases from budgeting to close-out.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in leading the project team, goal setting, and developing policies and procedures.
  • Mentor team members and carry out assigned duties to achieve project/program completion.
  • Assist in leading cross-functional healthcare projects with demanding resource requirements, risk, or complexity.
  • Monitor design and construction activities for compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and develop project budgets, cash flow analyses, and cost estimates.
  • Review purchase orders, change orders, and invoices.
  • Forecast, identify, and address potential liabilities and risks.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules.
  • Ensure project objectives are met.
  • Maintain client, consultant, contractor, and vendor relationships.
  • Manage conflict resolution.
  • Communicate complex ideas, anticipate concerns, and persuade others to facilitate project conclusion.
  • Assist in the evaluation, development, and selection of standards, protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and instruction to less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated history of managing minimum of $10 million in healthcare or related construction types.
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and a track record in project management techniques, concepts, principles, and standards.
  • Ability to forecast project challenges and define solutions to maintain compliance with safety protocols, quality, schedule, and budget.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels internally and externally.
  • Ability to creatively resolve issues as they arise.
  • Ability to supervise people including recruitment, training, performance management, and people development.
  • High proficiency with general Microsoft applications, including MS Project and Share Point.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management software and applications.
