About the Role
The Finance team ensures accurate financial operations, managing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, partner compensation, payroll, treasury, and cash flow management to support strategic goals. Responsibilities include inventory management, billing, collections, profitability analysis, statutory accounting, compliance, and financial reporting. The team monitors expenses, optimizes processes, and implements cost-saving initiatives to ensure financial stability and growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the payroll function for 800 employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
- Implement robust checks and controls to safeguard against errors, ensure compliance, and maintain payroll integrity.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and provide expert advice on payroll and income tax legislation.
- Manage statutory reporting and returns including P60s, P11ds, and PAYE Settlement Agreement.
- Handle short-term business visitor compliance and reporting.
- Manage secondment tax and social security compliance in conjunction with home/host offices.
- Liaise with overseas offices regarding payroll and related accounting entries.
- Apply accounting principles for correct recording of payroll entries and reconciliation of control accounts.
- Monitor payroll costs against budgeted data.
- Address ad hoc employee queries.
- Provide yearly audit support.
- Process and reconcile employee personal disbursement accounts.
- Process and reconcile partner disbursement accounts.
- Reconcile payroll control accounts.
- Prepare and pay outsourced Madrid Payroll.
- Perform ad hoc duties and projects as required.
- Process monthly payroll input and data uploads, including joiners, leavers, and changes.
- Maintain the Payroll Masterfile with HR-provided information.
- Address employee and stakeholder payroll queries.
- Assist with the preparation of tax forms/returns.
- Assist with flexible benefit reconciliation and associated payments.
- Perform other third-party reconciliations and associated payments.
- Coordinate the season ticket loan process.
- Process Inpat, Expat, and Short-Term Business Visitor compliance and reporting.
- Manage the monthly Auto Enrolment process, including deductions and provider file processing.
- Explain the monthly gross/net pay variances report.
- Support the UK Payroll Manager.
Requirements
- Current payroll experience in the professional services sector.
- Good working knowledge of PAYE, NIC, and statutory calculations.
- Strong knowledge of payroll accounting.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, results-driven business.
- Demonstrate good customer service skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Solution-based approach.
- Ability to work closely with local HR and across all functions.
- Ability to bring new ideas.

- A minimum of five years’ experience within payroll/accounts administration.
