About the Role

This position is responsible for the accurate and timely testing of consumer products, reporting data, and writing technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate products submitted for testing for quality/safety issues.
• Prepare samples for testing using prescribed methods and standards.
• Conduct testing or analyze consumer products for basic bench analysis and limited analytical instrumentation.
• Use and verify test equipment and instruments, maintaining calibration records.
• Maintain test equipment, supplies, and lab cleanliness.
• Accurately record test data per BV Quality guidelines.
• Assist with department testing in other areas as required.
• Organize and manage workload to meet laboratory turnaround time and client expectations.
• Assist in the technical and administrative aspects of departmental projects.
• Compile data, prepare, and review written technical reports.
• Interface with senior staff for direction on compliance and standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Adhere to the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services Quality System requirements.
• Provide feedback to the department manager regarding departmental systems, processes, and improvements.
• Follow the guidelines set forth in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc. Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan.
• Evaluate test results data.
• Interpret and apply industry standards.
• Offer problem resolution for client issues/questions.
• Conduct verbal and written communications with internal clients regarding administrative and technical issues.
• Participate with senior staff in client meetings/visits when appropriate.

Requirements

• Knowledge of how to access the latest revisions of standards, protocols, and test methods, with direction.
• Must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.
