About the Role
The Data Scientist will play a key role on the Performance Marketing Analytics team, driving company-wide impact. This position involves blending strategic thinking, data science expertise, and stakeholder management to evolve data capabilities and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end development of machine learning and advanced analytics solutions for client acquisition, retention, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in Marketing, Digital, Product, Finance, and Data Engineering to align business goals with data science initiatives.
- Build data models and evolve practices toward a sophisticated enterprise data structure on Databricks.
- Define hypotheses, success metrics, and testable use cases with stakeholders.
- Source, clean, and integrate siloed datasets while designing robust data pipelines.
- Develop models for client outcomes including survival analysis, logistic regression, tree-based models, and CLV modeling.
- Build and refresh Marketing Mix Models for incrementality and channel optimization.
- Productionalize models using MLflow and implement monitoring and alerting.
- Produce response curves, elasticities, and scenario planning for budget allocation.
- Translate complex analyses into clear narratives and recommendations for executive audiences.
- Coach junior team members through code reviews and pair programming.
- Ensure adherence to model governance, validation, fairness, and privacy standards.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on data science experience delivering productionized models.
- Strong Python proficiency including pandas, numpy, and scikit-learn.
- Experience with survival analysis, logistic regression, and tree-based/gradient boosting methods.
- Demonstrated experience with Marketing Mix Modeling and translating results into budget recommendations.
- Experience with multi-touch attribution models and measuring return on marketing investment.
- Expertise in CLV modeling and linking it to acquisition/retention strategies.
- Proven ability to work in scrappy data environments with disparate sources.
- Proficiency with SQL, PySpark, MLflow, and Databricks Jobs/Workflows.
- Experience designing and analyzing A/B and incrementality tests.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and reproducible research practices.
- Experience with cloud data ecosystems like Azure or AWS and orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Plotly, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Mentoring experience guiding junior associates and establishing coding standards.
