About the Role

As a Product Controller at group.one, you will enhance the product organization's commercial sharpness and data-driven decision-making by providing a unified view of product performance. You will support Product Managers and Commercial Leads by managing controlling, contracts, and purchasing, ensuring decisions are based on accurate KPIs and market benchmarks. A key aspect of this role involves establishing and governing AI-driven analytics for timely insights.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the product KPI framework, encompassing commercial, customer-value, and operational metrics, as a connected view.
  • Produce accurate and timely performance reports for Product Managers and Commercial Leads.
  • Conduct and maintain competitive and market benchmarking for informed product decisions.
  • Configure, supervise, and quality-assure AI agents for ongoing monitoring of commercial, customer, and operational data.
  • Validate AI agent outputs, set thresholds and alerts, and ensure data trustworthiness.
  • Continuously improve instrumentation and automation for earlier and more efficient insights.
  • Manage day-to-day commercial controlling of the product, including cost tracking, budget adherence, and margin visibility.
  • Oversee product-related contracts, licensing, and purchasing, ensuring value, compliance, and timely renewal.
  • Identify and communicate commercial risks and opportunities with supporting evidence.
  • Serve as an analytical partner to Product Managers, rapidly converting questions into decision-ready evidence.
  • Support regional Commercial Leads with data and controlling for local pricing, bundles, and promotions.
  • Coordinate with finance, delivery, and compliance teams to maintain a consistent commercial picture across regions.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in commercial controlling, including product P&L, pricing, and subscription or renewal models.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, KPI definition, framework building, and interpreting funnel, churn, and revenue metrics.
  • Experience managing contracts, licensing, and purchasing in a product or technology setting.
  • Commitment to accuracy and reliance on trustworthy data and evidence.
  • Motivation to enable Product Managers and Commercial Leads to make faster, better-informed decisions.
  • Proactive approach to continuous improvement through enhanced tracking, automation, and earlier insights.
  • Ability to translate complex commercial and operational data into clear, decision-ready insights.
  • Experience setting up and overseeing AI-driven analytics, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and trustworthiness.
  • Effective collaboration skills across product, commercial, finance, and delivery teams.
  • Ensuring reliable KPIs, controlled contracts and costs, and timely insights delivery.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • German language skills are a plus.
