About the Role
The Financial Controller plays an important role within the international finance function across EMEA and APAC, responsible for managing day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, controls, tax compliance, and finance operations across multiple jurisdictions. This role supports a robust and scalable finance function while assisting with commercial activity, strategic initiatives, and organizational growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounting and financial reporting activities across EMEA & APAC.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles ensuring compliance with group policies and accounting standards.
- Ensure accurate statutory and management reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support the regional consolidation process and global reporting requirements.
- Ensure robust financial controls, balance sheet integrity, and governance processes are maintained across the region.
- Support finance systems enhancements, automation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with regional leadership, operational teams, and FP&A to support commercial decision-making and business performance.
- Support transactions, strategic projects, and commercial initiatives including financial modelling, deal structuring, and business analysis.
- Provide hands-on financial and operational support to project and deal teams.
- Support regional forecasting, budgeting, and reforecasting processes.
- Identify risks, provide analysis, and support improved financial outcomes.
- Coordinate payroll operations across multiple international jurisdictions.
- Manage statutory reporting requirements across multiple international entities and jurisdictions.
- Coordinate annual audit processes across international entities and support relationships with external auditors.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and local service providers across multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage tax compliance including corporate tax, VAT, payroll, and transfer pricing matters.
- Support internal and external compliance reviews, audits, and regulatory filings.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements.
- Manage, mentor, and develop members of the international finance team.
- Build strong working relationships across finance, operations, and leadership teams.
- Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing finance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Support the continued development of finance processes and team capability across the region.
Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA preferred or equivalent).
- Strong post-qualified experience within international finance roles.
- Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions within global corporate structures.
- Understanding of reporting into a US parent company or global headquarters.
- Strong technical accounting expertise across financial reporting, controls, audit, tax, and regulatory compliance within international environments.
- Experience operating within fast-paced, commercially driven, and transaction-oriented environments, ideally within professional services, financial services, advisory, or investment-related sectors.
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across finance and operational teams in international regions.
- Exposure to private equity-backed, transformational, or high-growth environments would be advantageous.
- Pragmatic, hands-on, and comfortable operating at pace.
