About the Role
Contribute to the successful design, production, coordination, and management of Lighting/Signal design projects. Develop lighting systems designs, prepare technical reports, and provide field support.
Responsibilities
- Preparing engineering drawings using computer-aided design software and supporting calculations and documentation.
- Designing traffic signalization and street lighting systems for municipal or provincial projects.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Generating drawings in various formats for approval and use by project stakeholders.
- Understanding electrical distribution systems to design and modify drawings.
- Performing project administration functions such as drawing distribution and management, coordination, and communication with project stakeholders.
- Maintaining project information, drawings, files, spreadsheets, and records.
- Attending design and project coordination meetings as required.
- Summarizing parts and materials from available literature and databases.
- Performing subdivision inspections for assumption reviews.
- Performing contract administration functions including tender, award, quantity review, completion, and assumption work.
- Working occasional evenings or weekends to meet deadlines.
- Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Develop lighting systems designs in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D such as layout, single line diagrams, wiring schematics, photometric layouts, grounding details.
- Prepare and review wire sizing, voltage drop and conduit capacity calculations.
- Coordinate utilities for electrical infrastructure and transportation-related design and construction projects.
- Prepare technical reports and tender items.
- Provide field support such as commissioning and site inspections.
Skills
- Proficient in Civil 3D or AutoCAD.
