About the Role
Corpay is seeking a Graduate Software Engineer for a permanent role within the Alpha Group division, focusing on Cross Borders. This entry-level position offers a career in FinTech software development, providing opportunities to learn and grow in a supportive environment while contributing to finance information systems. You will gain hands-on experience with real projects, working alongside experienced engineers to develop secure, scalable, and high-performance software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to software component development under guidance, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, seeking feedback for improvement.
- Assist in testing and debugging software features, learning to identify and resolve bugs.
- Participate in team discussions, stand-ups, and code reviews to gain knowledge.
- Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and translate them into technical tasks.
- Learn and implement secure development practices.
- Support engineers in maintaining and improving software systems, familiarizing with development tools and processes.
- Develop a basic understanding of cloud platforms, microservices architecture, and database management.
- Contribute to the creation of technical documentation.
- Communicate progress and challenges, focusing on continuous improvement and learning ownership.
- Maintain accurate records of investigations in accordance with policies and AML/CFT regulations.
- Identify suspicious activity and follow processes for reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to validate alerts, ensure decision-making consistency, and escalate cases.
Requirements
- 2:1 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related (STEM) field.
- Commercially aware mindset with an interest in FinTech, finance, and Financial Products and Services.
- Knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., C# .NET, TypeScript, React) through academic projects, internships, or self-study.
- Familiarity with web development concepts, APIs, and databases.
- Basic understanding of software development processes.
- Willingness to learn from experienced engineers and take feedback constructively.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a passion for finance technology and software development.
