About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager for a 10-person Berlin-based startup. This role focuses on the operational management of global supply chains, specifically handling imports from China and Asia and managing complex, long-lead-time logistics.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire supply chain from Asian suppliers to delivery in Germany
- Plan, monitor, and optimize supply chains with 3–5 month lead times
- Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics providers
- Track and manage sea freight and container shipments from China and other Asian markets
- Ensure timely product availability based on inventory, forecasts, and demand planning
- Identify and resolve supply bottlenecks, transport delays, and operational disruptions
- Coordinate customs, import, and transport processes
- Analyze supply chain KPIs and implement optimization measures
- Coordinate closely with purchasing, warehouse, sales, and external partners
Requirements
- 2-3+ years of professional experience in supply chain management, supply planning, or a similar operational role
- Proven experience managing supply chains with long lead times of 3–5 months
- Experience in importing and sourcing goods from China or Asia
- Solid knowledge of sea freight, container logistics, and international transport processes
- Hands-on mentality and passion for operational process management
- Structured and solution-oriented approach in dynamic environments
- Very good English language skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel
