About the Role
Toromont Cat is seeking a Shop Helper to support branch site operations by organizing and maintaining shop areas for efficient customer order processing. This role assists Shop Technicians and Supervisors to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound, and healthy work behaviors.
- Assist Shop Technicians and Supervisors as directed.
- Track, store, and maintain all required tooling.
- Perform calibration of tools, respecting expiry dates.
- Locate and clean equipment, moving it to and from repair locations.
- Validate component lists and prepare for pickup or shipping.
- Maintain cleanliness of shop and surrounding work areas.
- Support Contamination Control efforts by maintaining bulk oil, collection sites, and solvent stands.
- Ensure waste is segregated according to established policies.
- Clean, wash, and buff parts as directed to assist Technicians.
- Occasionally assist technicians on the road with their tasks.
Requirements
- Completed high school OR at least 3 years in a similar workshop support function.
- Valid G Driver’s License.
- Ability to lift up to 30 - 50lbs.
- Comfortable working in a garage-style environment.
- Mechanical inclination.
