About the Role
As a Patient Care Assistant at Madison Health, you will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care in the department setting. You will perform tasks under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, assisting patients with daily living activities, providing basic nursing care, and maintaining a safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Provides patients with assistance with activities of daily living.
- Assists with feeding patients and maintaining fluid balance with technique appropriate for patient’s age and physical condition.
- Provides additional care as required to meet the personal needs and comfort of assigned patients.
- Provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill and acutely ill patients within the Nursing Assistant’s scope of practice that includes actions that meet psychosocial needs and physical needs.
- Communicates to the RN any observed changes in patient status and responses.
- Maintains awareness of the needs of the pediatric, geriatric and general patient population.
- Provides clerical support necessary for the efficient functioning of the patient care unit as needed.
Requirements
- BLS certification within 30 days of employment required.
