About the Role

Within Mace's consult business, this role harnesses unique expertise in project delivery consultancy to unlock potential in major transit and transportation infrastructure programs in Canada. The role involves leading cost management services, ensuring fiscal and ethical operations, and mentoring teams to achieve excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership of the overall delivery of strategy, objectives & all projects in Engine/Group HSW portfolio.
  • Drives & implements strategies for area of responsibility, develops, defines & implements operational plans for portfolio.
  • Accountable for delivery of annual financial and operating targets for the Engine/Group HSW portfolio.
  • Leads effective cost management, ensuring budgets are met and utilises data & analysis to drive continuous business improvements.
  • Oversees & promotes effective relationships externally with all clients, suppliers, partners & internally.
  • Accountable for overall responsibility for HSW in Engine/Group, oversees health & safety management systems.
  • Oversees the development of Engine/Group HSW strategies & initiatives aligned to business requirements.
  • Leads risk assessment, audit reviews, monitoring & managing HSW in Engine/Group portfolio.
  • Champions innovation, provides thought leadership across the Engine/Group HSW portfolio advocating new ideas, ways of working & efficiencies.
  • Leads & implements strategies for service delivery championing a culture of good practice & continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates & partners with others across the business & identifies and promotes cross selling opportunities.
  • Drives & promotes business development, including building & developing productive relationships across the business & with clients.
  • Demonstrates ‘good organisation citizenship’ by working in an enterprise-wide way.
  • Champions & drives the strategic implementation of enterprise-wide (& business unit) strategic priorities, initiatives & transformational change.
  • Leads Engine/Group HSW portfolio by example, setting & working by high standards.
  • Leads, guides & provides direction to business area, ensures a high performing project portfolio & teams that meet & exceed KPIs.
  • Represents Mace & Engine/Group HSW, manages & influences key C-Suite & senior external relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Promotes & champions the highest standards and adherence to Health, Safety & Wellbeing across portfolio.
  • Provides thought leadership, industry expertise & expert counsel across the Engine/Group HSW portfolio to senior leadership teams.

Requirements

  • Advanced expertise in budget management and financial oversight.
  • Ability to lead and shape the strategic direction of a business from both internal and external perspectives.
  • Proven capability to influence, build, and lead cohesive senior leadership teams overseeing regional operations.
  • Strong expertise in client engagement, strategic partnerships, work winning, and driving operational performance.
  • Experienced and effective people leader with strong team development capabilities.
  • Strong experience working with key clients across relevant sectors or portfolios.
  • Advanced negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to persuade, advise, and collaborate effectively to drive alignment and achieve business outcomes.
  • Demonstrates innovative thinking, continuously improving processes and championing new approaches.
  • Promotes and drives the adoption of new technologies across teams and operations.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership or director-level role (or equivalent).
  • Strong commercial awareness with consulting and strategic acumen.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a relevant leadership role within the construction or consultancy sector.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Construction, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification or experience).

Salary/Compensations

  • 230,000 - 320,000 CAD
