About the Role

This role offers a Python Software Engineer the opportunity to join the Risk, Finance & Compliance technology function. You will work with a high degree of autonomy, taking end-to-end ownership of initiatives from design to production while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable technology solutions that enable informed business decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance in-house systems and third-party integrations.
• Collaborate with Risk and Finance teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide technical support to Risk, Finance, and Front Office users regarding internal Python libraries, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise data.
• Contribute to architectural design and identify opportunities for platform improvement.
• Design and implement data visualizations for internal dashboards and reporting tools.
• Perform data cleansing, enrichment, and transformation using scalable tools.
• Develop and maintain data integration services and query interfaces.
• Participate in technology projects supporting key business initiatives.

Requirements

• Approximately five years of experience.
• Current experience in a commodities trading environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python and analytical libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Plotly.
• Experience building APIs using Python frameworks, preferably FastAPI.
• Familiarity with AWS services including Lambda, Step Functions, Cognito, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and CDK.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of parallel and distributed data processing concepts.
• Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently.
