About the Role

The Order to Cash (O2C) team within Sony Interactive Entertainment's (SIE) Global Accounting & Treasury (GAT) organization is responsible for managing accounts receivable, credit, and customer master data to support SIE's revenue and cash flow. This position leads the O2C team in Japan, focusing on stable operations, team support, development, and progress management. It also involves credit management in the Asia region and O2C process improvements in collaboration with overseas offices. O2C is a critical accounting area directly linked to revenue and cash collection, requiring accurate accounting, compliance, and governance while understanding business challenges and enabling business-aligned operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead stable operations of overall O2C business in Japan, providing operational support, progress management, issue resolution, development, and work allocation adjustments for team members.
  • Promote operational management with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and governance for the entire team.
  • Support accurate accounts receivable management and accounting through billing after revenue recognition, AR balance management, invoice content confirmation, payment application, AR balance reconciliation, and investigation of unapplied/discrepancy items.
  • Confirm credit status of business partners in Japan and Asia, verify payment terms, and monitor AR balances and payment status.
  • Contribute to cash flow improvement and credit risk reduction in collaboration with sales and relevant departments.
  • Handle customer master data registration/modification and customer onboarding tasks, supporting accurate and efficient master data management in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Respond to closing activities and reporting, including AR balance confirmation, unearned/prepaid/discrepancy adjustments, account balance analysis, and preparation of closing documents.
  • Analyze AR balances, aging receivables, unapplied payments, payment status, and credit status to create reports visualizing operational status and issues.
  • Promote improvements in operational quality and efficiency through process improvement, standardization, data utilization, and automation considerations.
  • Connect operational issues and knowledge in Japan and Asia to global improvement activities in collaboration with overseas offices.
  • Engage in organizational cross-functional projects and collaboration with other regions based on experience and aptitude.

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of accounting/financial experience in a business company or auditing firm, or equivalent experience.
  • Practical experience in at least one of the following: accounts receivable management, credit management, customer master management, or monthly closing.
  • Experience in team management, people management, or team leadership.
  • Ability to resolve issues through smooth communication with internal/external and domestic/international stakeholders.
  • Accounting knowledge equivalent to Nikkai Boki (Japanese Bookkeeping) Level 2 or higher.

Skills

  • SAP experience in accounting operations
  • Data analysis and reporting using Excel or BI tools
  • Experience in promoting operational improvements, standardization, and automation
  • Experience collaborating with global teams, overseas offices, and BPO/outsourced vendors
  • Business-level communication skills for interacting with overseas offices (meetings, emails, chats)
  • Business communication skills in Japanese (JLPT N1 level or equivalent)
