About the Role
In this customer-focused application engineering role, you act at the interface between our customers and MD, collaborating closely with sales, R&D and other internal functions to translate customer requirements into feasible technical solutions and ensure that customer expectations and MD’s technical capabilities remain aligned throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Act as the central technical interface to the customer and represent customer-specific technical concerns and interests within MD.
- Prepare and evaluate customer enquiries from a technical perspective and provide professional technical consulting to the customer.
- Define and specify technical solutions that meet customer requirements and MD standards.
- Represent the customer’s technical perspective in MD projects (R&D projects, programs, ramp-ups).
- Maintain and further develop the technical interface to the customer, including building deep knowledge of the customer’s technical roadmaps and future requirements.
- Support the sales team in customer acquisition activities and ongoing customer care with your technical expertise.
- Apply your product and process knowledge to ensure technically robust and manufacturable solutions.
Requirements
- Technical college certification or comparable technical/administrative degree.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in a technical customer-facing role, preferably in the automotive environment.
- Solid overall product knowledge and understanding of application engineering processes.
- Experience with automotive processes and standards.
- Confident handling of SAP and MS Office applications.
- CAD knowledge for understanding and discussing technical designs.
- Very good communication skills in the local language and in English.
- High sense of ownership with the courage to make decisions.
