About the Role
This role is crucial for a major national rail programme focused on delivering a modern, electrified high-speed corridor. The position involves leading the creation and implementation of strategic management plans, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliant, commercially effective delivery. The goal is to drive operational performance, resource optimisation, and sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities
- Champion Mace’s Safety First culture, ensuring exceptional safety, compliance and wellbeing through advanced technical HSE expertise.
- Lead strategic delivery across key assignments, owning executive and client relationships and driving strong governance.
- Uphold ethical, financially sound operations while shaping long‑term business strategy.
- Develop and empower teams through mentoring, knowledge sharing, innovation and proactive talent management.
- Leads major project strategy and delivery, ensuring alignment with client vision, build strategy and Mace’s Safety First standards.
- Optimises multidisciplinary resources, governs performance, and drives innovation through C2P, digital and net‑zero solutions.
- Owns senior client and executive relationships, ensuring effective governance and service excellence.
- Builds high‑performing, inclusive teams while influencing long‑term business strategy and sustainable growth.
- Lead on the cost management services including estimating, procurement and cost planning, owning the quality of deliverables, strategic outcomes and building long term relationships with your clients.
- Lead operations that are fiscally and ethically viable, influencing the achievement of business objectives that align with business and legislative compliance obligations.
- Mentor, coach, and develop teams, demonstrating effective leadership to ensure excellence in delivery against plans, championing a continuous improvement culture throughout all activities.
Requirements
- Experience delivering major rail or high‑speed programmes, ideally within the design or early set‑up stages.
- Extensive major project delivery experience with strong commercial, financial and technical expertise.
- Advanced leadership, stakeholder management and risk capability across complex programmes.
