About the Role
The Product Performance Management Specialist is a seasoned professional role that applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge to contribute to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow. This role integrates subject matter and industry expertise, requiring an understanding of how different areas collectively integrate within the sub-function and contribute to overall business objectives. The specialist evaluates complex issues, balancing alternatives and using multiple sources of information, with strong analytical, communication, and diplomacy skills. They often take on leadership roles, coach new recruits, and significantly impact projects by influencing decisions and facilitating services. The performance of teams in the area is directly affected by this individual's contributions.
Responsibilities
- Partners across product disciplines to own products and monitor performance drivers.
- Manages the ongoing performance and maintenance of products, including client experience, pricing, risk, and distribution.
- Applies in-depth knowledge to develop new techniques and improve processes for the product performance team.
- Integrates subject matter and industry knowledge, understanding how areas integrate within the sub-function and contribute to business objectives.
- Evaluates complex issues, weighing alternatives and balancing conflicting situations.
- Implements performance improvement strategies, focusing on cross-sell and integration, including competitive and market analyses, product road maps, market plans, pricing strategies, and product line extensions.
- Assists sales and relationship managers in building skills to identify client needs and propose solutions.
- Partners closely with sales teams to identify client opportunities and with client management to meet prospective clients and size new opportunities.
- Builds consensus and awareness of the value proposition throughout the organization and with key partners.
- Prepares materials for the Product Approval Program and ensures products adhere to global parameters.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams (technology, operations, legal, implementations, sales) to deliver client solutions.
- Assesses risk appropriately, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding assets by adhering to policies, ethical judgment, and transparent reporting of control issues.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience in Product Management and/or Product Development discipline.
- Experience in and understanding of logistics or Industrial verticals.
- Experience with e-commerce solutions preferred.
- Ability to make complex judgments and solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought.
- Ability to perform in-depth quantitative or qualitative analysis to solve problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Ability to apply ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution in complicated and/or novel situations.
- Developed diplomacy skills required to guide, influence, and convince others, particularly colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.
- Experience with and confidence in delivering presentations to clients and senior managers.
- Ability to appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets.
- Ability to drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Ability to adhere to Policy and apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices.
- Ability to escalate, manage and report control issues with transparency.
