About the Role

The Associate Key Account Manager (KAM) is a field-based expert responsible for driving commercial objectives for selected genetic programs in Germany within their assigned territory. This role supports the development and implementation of key account plans to optimize patient care, working in alignment with various internal functions and adhering to all ethical and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Present a positive company image and build awareness of Alnylam’s RNAi platform among healthcare professionals.
  • Support, own, and drive territory and account plans, including customer targeting and cycle plans, in line with Marketing strategy and management guidance.
  • Promote the product portfolio and achieve post-launch Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Utilize sales skills to ensure consistent and continuous messaging.
  • Conduct detailed territory analysis to identify, assess, and support the development of relevant centers for patient diagnosis and referral.
  • Support awareness of patient identification, diagnostic testing, and referral pathways by executing territory and account-specific plans.
  • Build relationships and maintain contact with key customers, providing commercial and scientific services to ensure site of care access.
  • Manage and execute local meetings to drive diagnosis and referral in collaboration with the Medical Affairs Team.
  • Represent Alnylam at local and national meetings and congresses.
  • Serve as the communication link between key customers and internal teams.
  • Liaise and collaborate with relevant internal staff, including Medical Affairs, Sales Director, Marketing, Market Access, and Business Operations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting and diligent maintenance of the CRM database.
  • Conduct all activities to the highest ethical standards in accordance with country codes of practice and local laws and regulations.
  • Undertake significant domestic travel and occasional international travel as needed.

Requirements

  • University degree in a business-related field such as health or business management, or a comparable educational background.
  • Certified to promote medicinal products to the national code of practice standard in Germany.
  • 2+ years of previous Sales and Key Account Management experience in bio/pharmaceutical sales.
  • Ability to gain consistent access and develop strong, professional relationships with healthcare providers in reference centers and the community for product promotion.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills to engage with professionals at all organizational levels.
  • Strong business acumen to add value to existing healthcare structures.
  • Ability to leverage previous experiences and insights to generate and maintain appropriate awareness and timely access to treatment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel within a territory on a regular basis (80% of the time).
