About the Role
The Manager, Business Intelligence leads SOCAN’s analytics function, overseeing data analysts and engineers to deliver scalable, high-quality data and reporting solutions. This role defines and executes the enterprise analytics strategy, aligning data initiatives with business priorities to drive operational and strategic decision-making. It requires a blend of technical leadership, people management, and delivery oversight.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the enterprise analytics and reporting strategy, aligning data initiatives with organizational priorities and long-term goals.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of Data Analysts and Data Engineers, including performance management, coaching, and career development.
- Establish team structure, operating model, and delivery standards to scale analytics capabilities across the organization.
- Act as the senior analytics leader and advocate for data-driven decision-making across business units.
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of analytics, reporting, and data engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment to business outcomes, quality standards, and timelines.
- Manage team capacity, prioritization, and resource allocation across projects and operational support.
- Ensure consistent delivery of executive-ready reporting, dashboards, and data products that support key business decisions.
- Resolve escalated issues related to data, reporting, or platform performance.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of SOCAN’s data analytics platform, with a focus on Databricks and Azure-based solutions.
- Ensure the data ecosystem is scalable, secure, and performant, supporting analytics, reporting, and future AI use cases.
- Direct the Data Engineering team to manage data pipelines, integration workflows, and transformation processes.
- Drive adoption of modern data practices, including automation, continuous integration/delivery, and reproducible analytics workflows.
- Define and enforce enterprise data governance, quality standards, and validation frameworks to ensure data integrity and trust.
- Establish consistent KPI definitions and data models across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with data management standards and best practices.
- Implement monitoring frameworks to proactively identify and resolve data issues.
- Partner with senior leaders to understand business priorities and translate them into data and analytics solutions.
- Drive alignment across business, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver integrated outcomes.
- Present insights, recommendations, and progress updates to executive stakeholders.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities where data can drive measurable business impact.
- Drive adoption of self-serve analytics and scalable reporting capabilities across the organization.
- Promote best practices for analytics development, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Evaluate and introduce new tools, technologies, and approaches to enhance analytics capabilities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and data literacy.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering, with demonstrated leadership of analytics functions or teams.
- 2+ years of people management experience, including leading cross-functional data teams (analysts and engineers).
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and strong working knowledge of Python, with experience in distributed compute environments such as Spark.
- Proven experience working with modern cloud data platforms, particularly Databricks and Azure-based data architectures.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and scalable analytics platform design.
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute data strategy, including KPI frameworks, data governance, and analytics roadmaps.
- Experience delivering enterprise-level reporting and analytics solutions that drive business decision-making.
- Strong understanding of data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior leadership and translating data into business insights.
- Strong organizational and operational management skills, including planning, prioritization, and execution at scale.
- Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics) or equivalent experience.
- Passion & love for music.

- $101,360 to $126,700
