About the Role
Allstate Protection Plans is seeking a collaborative attorney to partner closely with business teams, provide practical counsel, and build scalable legal processes for a growing global enterprise. You will advise on legal risks, business strategies, and operational issues, working with internal stakeholders and external partners to reduce friction, improve transaction flow, and enhance customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and manage a variety of legal agreements, including retailer partnerships, supply chain/sourcing deals, and other complex commercial agreements.
- Lead product development in North America, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and assess legislation to ensure enterprise-wide compliance and lead the development of internal policies and procedures.
- Provide strategic legal advisory support across global employment law, global privacy, data security, corporate governance, marketing, and litigation matters.
- Work independently to initiate, lead, and drive new legal projects and identify process improvements.
- Deliver timely, pragmatic, and business-focused legal counsel globally, even in ambiguous situations.
- Lead engagement with outside counsel, ensuring effective legal outcomes and managing spend.
- Manage and develop other attorneys, providing coaching, direction, and oversight.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of relevant legal experience, with at least 4 years of in-house experience.
- JD from an accredited law school and active California bar membership in good standing.
- Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Experience with employment law, litigation, privacy, and/or data security is a plus.
- Exceptional judgment and creativity, with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice.
- Entrepreneurial mindset; flexible, self-starting, and hard-working.
- Solution-oriented with the ability to drive agreements and projects to conclusion.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Able to communicate effectively with cross-functional partners and upper management.
- Must submit to a background investigation.

- $210K - $280K
