About the Role

The Logistics Strategy & Operations team is responsible for making shipping a trusted, strategic lever for Whatnot's buyers and sellers across international markets. As our International Logistics S&O hire — embedded in London alongside our international category expansion team — you will own the operating model and cross-functional partnerships that enable scalable, high-quality logistics across Whatnot's European markets, lead carrier performance and pricing health in INTL markets, build and run operational response to shipping disruptions, drive Whatnot's international carrier strategy and feed the product roadmap, and navigate the regulatory and compliance complexity of logistics in Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Own the operating model and cross-functional partnerships that enable scalable, high-quality logistics across Whatnot's European markets
  • Lead carrier performance and pricing health in INTL markets — monitoring key metrics, managing rate structures, and driving accountability with regional carrier partners
  • Build and run operational response to shipping disruptions — owning the playbooks that ensure fast, reliable resolution for buyers and sellers across jurisdictions
  • Drive Whatnot's international carrier strategy and feed the product roadmap — identifying gaps by market and surfacing prioritised opportunities to Product and Engineering
  • Navigate the regulatory and compliance complexity of logistics in Europe, including customs, duties, and VAT requirements
  • Partner with senior leaders across BD, Finance, Product, and Operations to advance a EU logistics with seamless user experiences and competitive pricing

Requirements

  • Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our London hub.
  • 8–10 years of experience in strategy and operations roles (e.g., consulting, logistics, carrier operations, cross-border commerce)
  • Deep, hands-on experience in logistics — specifically within European markets — including direct carrier relationship management, customs/compliance navigation, and regional fulfilment operations
  • Proven track record of building and scaling logistics programmes in high-growth, fast-moving environments, with the ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels
  • Strong understanding of carrier economics and the complexity of managing multi-carrier, multi-market logistics networks across the UK and EU
  • Process and systems thinker — you identify inefficiencies, build scalable operating models, and default to repeatable systems over one-off solutions
  • Excellent cross-functional skills, with the ability to influence and align across Product, Engineering, Business Development, Finance, and Operations
  • Strong analytical judgment; proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, with SQL or analytics platform experience (e.g., Looker, Sigma, Hex) a plus
