About the Role

Within our consult business, we harness our unique combination of leading-edge practical expertise and project delivery consultancy to unlock the potential in every project. Mace is working on major transit and transportation infrastructure programmes in Canada and continues to build capability to support current and future client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the delivery of key assignments and oversees the implementation of Major Project strategies, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
  • Determines and assembles project team resources, including required external specialist appointments and the recruitment of new staff.
  • Improves performance from the bid baseline by optimizing multi-disciplinary resources, monitors, reviews and evaluates activities, systems and methodologies as well as cross-selling.
  • Ensures efficient governance to support project activities within the business, gains organisational support and commitment, ensuring the achievement of strategic priorities.
  • Manages key client relationship management, interfaces, and supporting communication, including CRM across the account with live prospects and leads.
  • Leads and maintains exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and project compliance standards, ensuring full service excellence/service quality.
  • Establishes/influences the correct Build Strategy and C2P plan for procurement and execution.
  • Creates and nurtures a high-performing and inclusive team environment that encourages contribution, recognition and inclusion.
  • Promotes quality and Service Excellence in all conversations and project interactions.
  • Ensures the project or programme or works is operating an effective risk management strategy with appropriate management actions and risk treatments established.
  • Conveys and connects the wider business strategy to the project team and promotes the associated initiatives.
  • Leads key internal and external project review/reporting meetings.
  • Ensures operations are fiscally and ethically viable, influencing the achievement of business objectives and meeting organisational and legislative compliance obligations.
  • Builds and maintains internal and external relationships (e.g. clients, contractors, consultancies and other stakeholders) to foster growth and increase networks.
  • Acts as a regionally recognised expert in a specialised stream, directly influencing long term development of strategy for a function or Business Unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in procuring and delivering large-scale or complex projects, including effective team leadership.
  • Advanced technical understanding of project management practices, construction methodologies, sequencing, and logic.
  • Advanced expertise in risk and opportunity management.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills across estimating, scheduling, procurement, contract administration, financial controls, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of contracts and commercial frameworks.
  • Experience in performance management, fostering and maintaining a high-performance culture.
  • Well-established network across clients, consultants, and contractors within the industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of the consultancy, construction, infrastructure, and property sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage upwards effectively and constructively challenge senior leadership.
  • Strong leadership capability, providing clear direction while coaching and developing teams.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and developing project teams, creating a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and project/business requirements.
  • Extensive sector-specific experience, market knowledge, and professional network.
  • Successful delivery of major projects and programmes across all project phases.
