About the Role
Within Mace's consult business, harness unique expertise in project delivery consultancy to unlock project potential. This role supports major transit and transportation infrastructure programs in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Oversee project timeframes and budgets, ensuring diligent management and highlighting risks, challenges, and mitigations.
- Manage projects from inception to post-completion on behalf of external clients.
- Ensure successful project delivery aligned with stakeholder expectations by communicating strategies to client, consultant, and contractor teams.
- Oversee client and consultant teams, and all external stakeholders for effective project completion.
- Drive collaboration among all parties.
- Produce design and authorities programs integrated with procurement and delivery programs.
- Manage timely delivery from project inception through construction phase, adhering to program and milestones.
- Manage timely sequencing, methodology, and production of staging plans.
- Perform non-project related roles such as business reporting, pipeline management, bidding, business development, resourcing, and commercial strategy.
- Align delivery with strategy, focusing on construction to production, digital and data, service excellence, quality, assurance, and sustainability.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to implement strategies and initiatives.
- Manage, influence, and negotiate with key senior external stakeholders.
- Collaborate towards net zero carbon transition, sharing responsibility for identifying and managing associated carbon emissions and reductions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in project management, delivering small to medium and large-scale projects.
- Developing expertise in budget oversight and financial management.
- Developing proficiency in coordinating activities and collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills across estimating, scheduling, contract administration, procurement, financial controls, and reporting.
- Ability to identify, mitigate, and manage project risks, including proactive use of early warning processes.
- Developing capabilities in bidding, business development, and account growth.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including preparing fee proposals and managing project financials/workbooks.
- Good knowledge and expertise within a specific industry or project sector.
- Proactive approach to identifying and implementing improved working practices.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Experience contributing to successful construction delivery phases of projects and programmes.
- Demonstrated project management knowledge with growing depth of expertise.
