About the Role

Health Admins is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AI Developer to lead the technical direction of our AI initiatives. This is a greenfield opportunity where you will design and build AI systems from the ground up, owning decisions on platform selection, model strategy, RAG architecture, agent design, observability, and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Own AI architecture across cloud platforms (AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI)
• Design RAG systems end-to-end
• Build agentic systems using modern patterns
• Define observability and evaluation for AI systems
• Manage cost at scale for AI solutions
• Establish guardrails and compliance patterns for healthcare data and HIPAA
• Mentor and guide implementation-level developers
• Ship production systems by writing code and deploying solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years in AI/ML development
• 2+ years in architectural leadership or technical lead roles
• Proven track record architecting and deploying AI/ML systems in production environments
• Experience designing systems that handle sensitive data with appropriate security and compliance controls
• Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field (Preferred)
• Experience in HIPAA-regulated environments (Preferred)
• Insurance or healthcare payer industry experience (Preferred)
• Experience building and leading AI/ML teams (Preferred)
