About the Role

Seeking a qualified mechanical designer to join a highly motivated, multi-disciplined, cross-functional design engineering team. Responsibilities include electro-mechanical packaging and design, modification of existing designs, and creation of new designs for various components.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electro-mechanical packaging and design.
  • Modify existing designs and create new designs for electro-mechanical racks, shelters, enclosures, ground & airborne chassis’, circuit card assemblies (CCA’s), and 3U/6U modules.
  • Ensure new designs meet technical requirements, EVMS schedules, and budgets.
  • Travel 5% of the standard work week.
  • Obtain a US security clearance.
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings of electro-mechanical designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of mechanical design experience, or a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends when required.
  • Maintain a strong work ethic and sense of urgency to meet schedule and budget commitments.

Skills

  • GDTP certified (technologist level)
  • Proficient knowledge of CAD
  • Siemens NX (Designcenter) experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with VITA, VME, PMC, and ASME Y14.5-2018 open standards

  • 9/80 schedule (work 9 out of 14 days, totaling 80 hours, with every other Friday off)

Experience Level

  • 4+ years of mechanical design experience (or 8+ years related experience without a degree)
