About the Role

The Blueprint & Material Take-Off Coordinator will review fire protection system drawings, perform material take-offs, prepare fabrication lists, and support project execution from pre-construction through fabrication. This role ensures accurate material procurement and fabrication planning to improve project efficiency and reduce waste.

Responsibilities

  • Review fire protection blueprints and prepare material and fabrication lists
  • Coordinate work with the design team and office staff
  • Create legible material lists and fabrication cut sheets
  • Assist with fabrication administration
  • Prepare detailed fabrication cut sheets and spool lists for shop production
  • Generate fabrication packages including pipe schedules, fitting requirements, and assembly details
  • Coordinate fabrication priorities with production personnel
  • Assist with material tracking and inventory requirements
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of fabrication documentation
  • Collaborate with Sprinkler Designers, Estimators, Project Managers, Purchasing, and Field Supervisors
  • Communicate material requirements and fabrication schedules to internal stakeholders
  • Assist with procurement planning for long-lead and specialty items
  • Support project handoff meetings and ongoing coordination
  • Participate in resolving material shortages, drawing revisions, and field-related changes
  • Verify material quantities and fabrication lists for accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures
  • Maintain organized project documentation and records
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce errors

  • Ability to read and understand building blueprints
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines

  • General computer knowledge including MS Office
