About the Role

The Healthcare Data Analyst (HDA) will be responsible for data analysis, evaluation, and reporting from all data management systems, translating business needs into data-driven deliverables and creating sustainable reports, dashboards, and data models. This role supports the mission and goals of Ryan Health by facilitating the electronic exchange of information, generating reports, and assisting in database evaluation and quality control.

Responsibilities

  • Translate internal business needs into data-driven deliverables and products.
  • Create sustainable reports, dashboards, and data models.
  • Report and present results and findings to various levels of the organization.
  • Facilitate and monitor the electronic exchange of confidential information.
  • Generate reports and assist in the evaluation and quality control of databases for all programs.
  • Understand and work with healthcare data (clinical, financial, operational) to identify trends.
  • Work with program managers to ensure information availability and compile grant-funded program reports.
  • Compile, write, and oversee the production of statistical and operational reports.
  • Work with programming consultants to develop and maintain network-wide databases.
  • Serve as a liaison to external regulatory agencies for data reporting and submissions.
  • Maintain patient information and conduct research and analysis for program procedure recommendations.
  • Develop, test, configure, and update EHR data fields, templates, Smartforms, and reports.
  • Assist in data collection activities in collaboration with other IT staff.
  • Analyze and report operational and clinical data to supervisors.
  • Select, extract, compile, and transform data into meaningful information for decision-making.
  • Create and maintain troubleshooting documentation and training material for databases and EHR configuration.
  • Conduct training sessions on system features.
  • Develop clinical/business workflow testing scenarios.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve workflow issues.
  • Recommend enhancements or solutions to improve performance.
  • Analyze and design systems and interfaces to meet user needs.
  • Troubleshoot problems that occur during daily operations.
  • Recommend new or revised procedures for database use and policy implementation.
  • Consult with IT Management staff for guidance in database integration with EHR.
  • Assist in report production, maintenance, and support of IT Systems.
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform other special projects and assignments as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in data analytics, data management, and data reporting.
  • Experience with IBM Cognos, MSSQL, MS PowerBI, and BridgeIT or similar products.
  • Experience with healthcare grant-funded programs (e.g., AIRS, eShare, CDC, Cerberus, NYS Health).
  • Expertise in Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications (eClinicalWorks preferred).
  • Understanding of systems analysis, workflow design, and data integrity techniques.
  • Experience in Business Intelligence software.
  • Experience with database development and management.
  • Experience in Project Management Methodology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
