About the Role

Product Management is responsible for driving the overall user experience, feature strategies and concepts, and engagement paradigms for Disney Entertainment & ESPN's global portfolio of consumer-facing streaming and digital products. The Principal Product Manager, Tiering will lead product strategy and execution across plans, tiering, and monetization for the streaming business, sitting at the intersection of product, data, and business strategy. This role is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth while delivering compelling value to subscribers, defining plans and tiering strategies to meet consumer needs, cater to willingness to pay, and provide differentiated value. The role will also evaluate and test new models and approaches to increase monetization and is highly cross-functional, partnering closely with Product, Finance, and Data Science teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the strategy for plan tiering and evolution across a global portfolio, aligning consumer needs with business objectives.
  • Design and lead a learning agenda to deepen understanding of consumer willingness to pay and price elasticity.
  • Develop a product strategy to effectively balance revenue tradeoffs between advertising, subscription, and paid sharing revenue.
  • Define and build product and user experience features for plans and monetization.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve ARPU, conversion, and churn.
  • Develop experimentation frameworks to test tiering, pricing, promotions, and offers.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of company-wide initiatives that would affect plans and pricing decisions.
  • Manage a team of Product Managers focused on tiering and monetization.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor pricing, and emerging business models.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience working in strategy, product, consulting (or combination of the above) focused on monetization strategy.
  • In-depth experience with how companies should tier, package, and structure their commercial offerings.
  • Proven record of prioritizing and driving large-scale monetization programs and initiatives.
  • Worked in a direct-to-consumer subscription business with global scope.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and consumer behavior/preferences.
  • Ability to balance customer-centric thinking with business impact.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a talent for influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an organizational structure with both vertical and horizontal teams where ownership of a capability cuts across multiple teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
