About the Role

The Regional Physical Therapist oversees, plans, and administers physical therapy treatment programs to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. This role provides physical therapy services in outpatient, clinic, and home settings across multiple locations within a geographic region, with significant involvement in auditing and quality reviews. The role involves making recommendations to management regarding service delivery and documentation.

Responsibilities

Perform participant evaluations and treatment at the PACE site, outpatient clinic, and/or in the field.
Document all pertinent information, including evaluations, progress notes, care plans, daily statistics, and EMR.
Participate in developing a patient care plan with interdisciplinary team members.
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow safety protocols.
Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and recommend purchases.
Provide clinical instruction, mentoring, and direction to PTA’s and Students.
Act only within the scope of the individual’s authority to practice.
Assist in ensuring therapy services comply with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and company policies.
Assist in monitoring and reviewing patient records, documentation, and progress reports for accuracy and completeness.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
Maintain up-to-date records and documentation, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
Assist in scheduling and coordinating therapy sessions.
Participate in administrative and Inter Disciplinary Team meetings and provide reports.
Provide supervision of Physical Therapy services in clinic and field as necessary.
Provide orientation and clinical guidance to new team members as needed.

Requirements

Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
Current, valid New York State Physical Therapy license.
Two (2) years of experience preferred.
Experience in clinical practice across a range of settings preferred (e.g., outpatient, home health, acute care, rehabilitation).
Geriatric experience is preferred.
Be legally authorized to practice in the State where the function will be performed.
Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date.
Ability to establish rapport with patients and staff.
Ability to travel to participant’s homes, nursing home and sites/clinics.
Knowledge of PACE regulations.
Knowledge of Care Compass and other EMRs preferred.
Bilingual preferred depending on region.
Ability to sustain physical requirements including standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, maneuvering stairs, walking, climbing, agility, fine motor skills, visual assessment, hearing, speaking, and cognitive ability.
