About the Role
The Junior Software Engineer (AI Application Development) – Student supports the design, development, and continuous improvement of AI-enabled applications. This role is ideal for a student passionate about software development, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies, eager to gain hands-on experience building real-world applications.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of internal applications with a focus on AI-enabled functionality
- Assist senior engineers in building, testing, and refining software features using AI tools and APIs
- Prototype, evaluate, and experiment with AI-driven workflows, automations, and application enhancements
- Write, test, maintain, and document clean, reliable, and scalable code
- Assist with the integration of third-party services, APIs, and data sources
- Participate in debugging, testing, quality assurance, and performance optimization activities
- Maintain technical documentation, development notes, project trackers, and knowledge repositories
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver effective solutions
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the software development lifecycle
- Support additional projects and responsibilities as required
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a university or college program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline
- Basic programming experience in languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar
- Strong interest in artificial intelligence, automation, and software application development
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, tools, and frameworks quickly
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to development challenges
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
