About the Role

This role supports the Participant Journey function, providing financial insight and commercial focus to help shape financial plans for the recruitment and retention of millions of participants in a large-scale health research programme.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end forecasting of Participant Journey expenditure.
  • Develop and enhance forecasting models and perform scenario analysis for recruitment strategies.
  • Produce robust budgets and forecasts integrating operational and financial insights.
  • Identify and communicate risks and opportunities related to budgeting and forecasting.
  • Partner with leadership to support operational objectives and financial decision-making.
  • Produce monthly reporting and analysis to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Develop and monitor key financial metrics across participant cohorts.
  • Review supplier and partner contracts to assess financial implications.
  • Build and maintain contract reporting models to monitor performance and validate charges.
  • Support the development of business cases for new initiatives and projects.
  • Assess the impact of recruitment profiles on organisational funding and expenditure.
  • Provide financial insight to Steering Committees and governance forums.
  • Collaborate with other Finance Business Partners on programme-focused reporting.
  • Support Executive, Committee, and Board reporting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or Finance Business Partnering.
  • Strong financial modelling and scenario planning skills.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Ability to translate complex operational information into financial insight.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to provide constructive challenge.
  • Experience developing business cases and supporting investment decisions.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proactive and adaptable approach in a changing environment.
  • Recognised accounting qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Desirable: Experience in healthcare, life sciences, research, logistics, or operational delivery.
  • Desirable: Experience with supplier contracts, commercial arrangements, or procurement.
  • Desirable: Interest in health research and improving outcomes through data.
