About the Role

Circle is building the foundation of a more open, global economy through digital assets, payment applications, and programmable blockchain infrastructure. The Senior Software Engineer will extend Circle's in-house blockchain systems infrastructure to support the tokenization of the world.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing systems and modify systems.
• Build and own scalable microservices responsible for reliable and secure APIs that transfer value and assets across all blockchain and traditional banking protocols.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to design, test, and shape Circle features.
• Develop and document system design procedures, testing procedures, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot program and system malfunctions to restore normal functioning.
• Build publicly accessible APIs that simplify developer integration with complex payment systems.
• Integrate Platform Services with leading banks and financial technologies.
• Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
• Write infrastructure to deliver great payment experiences, including data sources (SQL or NoSQL), messaging systems, and APIs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 6 years minimum professional software development experience in object-oriented languages like Java and Go.
• Led teams (2-4) technically on architecture and system design.
• Experience working with payment systems like credit cards and bank transfers.
• Broad understanding of RESTful API design and development principles.
• Experience with Cloud Services (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
• Experience with SQL databases and designing schemas.
• Proven experience in the design & deployment of production-quality, scalable software.
• Focus on coding standards and code quality with a desire for great test coverage to enable continuous delivery.
• Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with remote teams, share ideas, and present concepts effectively.
• Self-starter, enjoys moving at a fast pace, shipping software that improves user experience, and constantly improving work with little supervision.
