About the Role

The Senior Manager, Operations oversees day-to-day field and departmental operations, ensuring efficient planning, resource allocation, and project execution. This role drives team development, customer satisfaction, and financial performance through leadership and strategic decision-making, partnering with internal teams and customers to ensure service excellence and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast weekly tasks, timing, and assignments.
  • Analyze and forecast factors affecting results to maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and operational data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Utilize the OPS System for compliance.
  • Monitor work authorizations.
  • Share manpower, resources, and tools across branches as needed.
  • Mentor, coach, and lead personnel to build a high-performing team.
  • Participate in employee recruitment, hiring, counseling, and terminations.
  • Ensure all employees meet required safety training.
  • Provide performance appraisals, feedback, and growth opportunities.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to promote trust and repeat business.
  • Survey customers, achieve minimum satisfaction ratings, and follow up on feedback.
  • Take prompt action to resolve customer complaints.
  • Drive productivity in field operations by implementing process improvements.
  • Achieve minimum budgeted net profit for the branch.
  • Manage billing and collections.
  • Track accounts receivable and manage working capital.
  • Achieve minimum productivity requirements.
  • Prospect for new business leads to ensure growth targets.
  • Pre-plan and identify methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.
  • Observe habits and hazards of others and bring them to their attention.
  • Uphold safety as the most important company goal and support achieving zero accidents.
  • Promote open communication regarding safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needs.
  • Obtain expected safety training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, project management, or technical leadership.
  • Past leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with electrical power distribution, motion control, and project management tools.
  • Positive safety attitude and personal integrity are non-negotiable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong knowledge of estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and strategic planning processes.
  • Proven ability to manage risk and profitability successfully.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including managing diverse personalities.
  • Decisive and solutions-oriented.
  • Excellent customer service orientation; able to build trust with internal teams and external clients.
  • Effective at working independently and as a team leader, with the ability to guide and motivate others.
  • Office and field environment requiring sitting and standing.
  • Travel to various work sites is essential, exposing employee to outdoor elements, noise and the need to stand and walk.
