About the Role

As the External Resourcing Manager, you will be the definitive bridge between ICHI's studio and the world’s best creative and production talent. You will curate an elite bench of freelancers, contractors, and partners, ensuring the right skills are available for projects. This role involves blending intuition with operational rigor to ensure external hires are a best-in-class fit for culture and clients, with significant reach across the agency and direct work with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, connect with, and qualify top-tier creative and production freelancers.
  • Maintain an encyclopaedic knowledge of the external network: skills, software proficiency, tech setups, day rates, and real-time availability.
  • Work closely with Producers and Creatives to proactively suggest the best talent matches based on specific project DNA.
  • Lead the charge on fee/rate and contract negotiations, ensuring engagements are commercially viable and compliant.
  • Qualify external partners and suppliers, assessing value and potential competitive risk.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership and Operations to refine onboarding tools, freelance workflows, and talent management systems.
  • Work with Operations to build a seamless workflow between UK and North American teams for strategic resource sharing.
  • Work in lockstep with the Resourcing Manager to provide seamless coverage of capacity and pipeline for the creative department.
  • Step in to support internal scheduling during high-volume periods and holiday gaps.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a talent management, traffic management, resource management, or high-volume creative recruitment role within a medium-large sized agency.
  • Confidence in working with production teams to draft and execute contracts.
  • Ability to manage complex data (availability, rates, skills) with precision.
  • Experience with resource management software or CRM tools.
  • Deep industry knowledge, understanding creative roles and their associated tech/tools.
  • Solid grasp of IR35 and employment legislation.
  • A proactive mindset, anticipating production bottlenecks.
  • Exceptional communication skills: friendly, passionate, persuasive, able to negotiate firmly but fairly.
  • Business intuition to identify partners aligning with goals while protecting ICHI’s USP and competitive edge.
