About the Role
The Car Control Clerk executes daily activities to ensure vehicles are rental-ready in status and location. This role coordinates processes such as registration, inventory, staging, and tracking non-rentable vehicles for a specific site.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities to make vehicles rental/sale ready, including inspections and registrations.
- Execute functions to complete vehicle readiness processes.
- Review VAW variance for the site to resolve improperly coded cars.
- Organize vehicle staging on the lot for quick action based on status, including scanning with mobile devices.
- Review non-rentable units and fleet levels, collaborating with the Pool Fleet Manager to resolve status issues.
- Ensure all vehicles are marked with the Quadrant system and follow up on aging vehicles.
- Inventory vehicles and monitor asset control points.
- Add new asset tags to incoming fleet and receive vehicles in EAM.
- Complete administrative duties such as data entry, responding to emails, viewing reports, closing work orders, and attending conference calls.
- Coordinate transportation and car haulers, including scanning of Non-Revenue moves.
Requirements
- Prior experience in the car rental industry preferred.
- Prior asset control experience preferred.
- Prior logistic or transportation experience preferred.
- Must have the ability to work with computers and tablets.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook.
- Must have the ability to navigate GPS mapping applications and follow guided directions.
- Must have strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Must be adaptable and flexible, with the ability to quickly change direction and focus.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.
- Must be able to work in inclement weather outdoors.
- Must be flexible for scheduling, as some positions may require nights, holidays, and/or weekends.
