About the Role
This role within the Cloud Platforms and SRE Chapter will set the technical direction for Cloud Platform teams across Developer Experience and SRE squads, optimizing for reduced friction in the engineering workflow and improved product reliability.
Responsibilities
- Act as a transformational leader, influencing multiple squads by sharing expert knowledge and experience.
- Coach and mentor specialists with a passion for continuous improvement towards engineering excellence.
- Drive significant technology initiatives end-to-end to ensure customer outcomes are met.
- Collaborate with architects and act as Product Owner to craft roadmaps and steer long-range goals.
- Drive the design and implementation of robust and durable software solutions that solve business-critical problems.
- Embed engineering best practices in collaboration with all Principal Engineers.
- Foster a collaborative environment and offer mentorship on effective communication within the engineering team.
- Build cohesive and positive relationships with stakeholders within and beyond engineering.
- Role model successful skills management and personal development, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Drive a culture of responsible innovation and experimentation, providing perspectives on leading industry tools and trends, and recommending new and emerging technologies.
Requirements
- High technical skills and understanding of engineering practices to develop solutions for engineers' day-to-day workflow problems.
- Excellent understanding of SRE and Developer Experience practices and their application to improve reliability and engineering workflow posture.
- Understanding of infrastructure as code and ability to participate in code reviews.
- Ability to lead the creation of robust, functional solutions and high-quality code, partnering with numerous stakeholders.
- Ability to lead, encourage, and empower engineers to consistently deliver value.
