About the Role
Orchestra is seeking a Financial Analyst to own revenue accounting, financial forecasting, pricing, reporting & analysis, and business risk assessment. This role is ideal for a solutions-oriented and analytically minded individual passionate about process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end close processes.
- Provide summaries of monthly billing and reconciliations.
- Provide day-to-day financial support to practices and assist with business management at the project and practice level.
- Maintain various financial trackers and reports (month-end reporting, budget trackers, financial statements, A/R, staff utilization, burn reports, WIP management, over-service reporting, etc.).
- Participate in the coordination of the annual budget and re-forecasts.
- Document, follow up on, and close out revenue, budgeting, billing, invoicing, or payment issues pertaining to clients.
- Own the AR function with the billing supervisor, including pursuing timely collection and escalating issues as necessary.
- Partner with practices to ensure the monthly financial schedule is followed.
- Prepare month-end journal entries for revenue and intercompany transfers.
- Support the monthly and annual budgeting processes.
- Open and manage jobs in coordination with account teams.
- Monitor jobs, estimates, POs, and rate cards to ensure accuracy and project activity.
- Serve as a business analytics resource on assigned practices and provide oversight.
- Lead and participate in financial meetings with internal teams.
- Participate in Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives and ad hoc projects.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in client finance.
- Experience in NetSuite or similar accounting/ERP packages (SAP, Anaplan, Oracle).
- Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, dashboards, advanced formulas, etc.).
- Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of GAAP, accruals, and revenue accounting.
- Clear and efficient communication skills with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively manage workload, prioritize, and streamline tasks to ensure accuracy.
- Take an ownership mentality in work, clients, and practices.
- Agency or client services experience (advertising, PR, communications, media, or legal).
- Working knowledge of media finance and operations.
