About the Role

The Talent Acquisition Advisor is responsible for full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, candidate engagement, and onboarding, to support CN's objective of being North America's top railroad. This role involves managing job postings, conducting interviews, and building diverse talent pipelines within a fast-paced, dynamic team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full life-cycle recruitment across North America including job postings, sourcing, resume review, pre-screening, and interviews.
  • Develop a deep understanding of talent needs across various teams.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with hiring managers to provide market insights and hiring recommendations.
  • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for complex searches using multiple platforms.
  • Source candidates through database mining, direct sourcing, vendor partnerships, and referrals.
  • Conduct initial candidate evaluations and provide feedback on next steps.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Manage the job offer process, including extensions and negotiations.
  • Collaborate and share best practices with the Talent Acquisition and HR teams.
  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy within the internal ATS.
  • Act as an ambassador within the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Ensure recruiting and hiring practices comply with corporate policies and governmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of high-volume recruiting experience in transportation or a trades-based environment.
  • Fluently bilingual in English and French (written and verbal).
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and manage stress.
  • Experience with ATS and/or recruitment software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven track record of success in talent acquisition.
  • Strong interviewing, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
