About the Role

The Student Administrative Council (SAC) acts as a Board of Directors and supervises the management of the Fanshawe Student Union (FSU). The SAC is responsible for implementing and enforcing policies and procedures governing the corporate and operational affairs of the FSU.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing, understanding, and amending the FSU's strategic direction and directives.
• Ensuring clear delegation of responsibility for fulfilling strategic direction.
• Implementing and enforcing policies and procedures that define roles within the FSU.
• Conducting regular reviews and amendments of policies and procedures.
• Receiving, considering, and acting upon matters referred by the President, Executive Director, or Members.
• Evaluating the President and Executive Director's fulfillment of strategic direction.

Requirements

• Must be a current full-time student at Fanshawe College in the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 semesters.
• Must have carried at least a 2.5 GPA during the full-time academic semester immediately prior to the commencement of office.
• Must not have been found incapable of managing property or by any court in Canada or elsewhere.
• Must not have the status of bankrupt.
• Must not be enrolled in a full-time program with less than four credit courses in the academic semester prior to commencement of office, and must have maintained a passing grade in all credit courses.
• Must be enrolled as a full-time postsecondary student at Fanshawe College for at least two out of three upcoming semesters, including one Winter term.
• Must be prepared to resign from any employee position with the Student Union if elected.
• Must not have been removed as a member for violating FSU Articles, By-Laws, or policies.
• Must not have been terminated for cause from employment with the Student Union.
• Must not be serving concurrently as the student governor on the Fanshawe College Board of Governors.
• Must not have previously served as a FSU Director and been removed or resigned from such position.
