About the Role
This role serves as the strategic face of Policy & Communications within the Oncology Business Unit, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute policy and communications programs that drive business goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in policy engagement, communication, and cross-functional teamwork, with experience in the UK health landscape.
Responsibilities
- Represent and lead the Policy & Communications contribution to the success of Oncology business leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Maintain a deep understanding of franchise goals, business objectives, critical success factors, and potential challenges/opportunities.
- Identify, understand, and prioritize engagement with internal and external stakeholders and audiences.
- Create and deliver policy and communications programs that advance company and franchise goals.
- Support staff engagement as required.
- Manage tactical communications delivery and supplier management.
- Provide strategic counsel on communications and business issues to colleagues.
- Contribute to broader Policy & Communications team initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven track record of success in multiple forms of policy engagement and communication.
- Proven track record of success in cross-functional teamwork.
- Experience and knowledge of the health landscape in the UK, preferably including knowledge of oncology.
- Leadership qualities and ability to engage convincingly with senior stakeholders.
- Experience in the life sciences industry and health.
- Sound knowledge of health policy and the pharmaceutical industry environment.
- Understanding of our portfolio and product lifecycle.
- Ability to understand and interpret external health policy in relation to products.
- Understanding of our mission, strategy, values, and franchise plans.
- Ability to identify key audiences for communications and engagement.
- Expertise in developing communication and policy strategies.
- Ability to provide counsel to colleagues on challenging communication scenarios.
- Ability to create programs and messages for various audiences to support UK mission, growth strategy, and business goals.
- Ability to shape the tone, style, and direction of key communications or policy campaigns.
- Ability to design strategic programs and develop project plans.
- Ability to garner support for resource allocation and teams.
- Ability to manage project budgets.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks.
- Strong prioritization and time management skills.
- Ability to measure results.
- Understand, apply, and comply with internal and external standards.
