About the Role
The Education Programme Manager will ensure timely and qualitative implementation of education programming. This role involves leading sectoral needs assessments, program implementation, staff management, monitoring, financial oversight, and procurement coordination.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and high-quality implementation of SCI’s education programme in Gaza.
- Coordinate with the EiE specialist and education team, ensuring alignment with international standards and SCI’s response strategy.
- Support human resources in recruiting education staff and Community Engagement Workers.
- Oversee the implementation of education activities in the field and provide regular progress updates.
- Support the development of new project proposals, including budget, log frame, and narrative.
- Contribute to accurate and timely donor reports, including case studies and field stories.
- Collaborate with the MEAL team to ensure monitoring and evaluation plans are understood and data is collected promptly.
- Provide capacity building and technical support to education staff, partners, and CEWs.
- Represent Save the Children in education forums and liaise with relevant organizations.
- Strengthen links between education and other sectors for integrated community working.
- Liaise with finance, logistics, and administration for smooth program operations.
- Share education issues at the field level that require advocacy.
- Comply with Save the Children’s policies, including health, safety, security, child safeguarding, and code of conduct.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of working with an NGO in education.
- Experience in designing, managing, monitoring, and evaluating education programmes in emergency, transition, and development contexts.
- Ability to identify key education gaps in a given context to inform a holistic response for children.
- Knowledge of established inter-agency standards and guidelines in education, particularly the INEE Minimum Standards for Education in Emergencies.
- Familiarity with key humanitarian principles, SPHERE standards, the humanitarian architecture, and donors.
- Experience liaising with NGOs and UN bodies.
- Experience in staff training and capacity building of organizational and partner staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- Results orientation.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
