About the Role
As a Data Scientist at Kyndryl, you will bridge the gap between complex business problems and innovative technical solutions. You will lead the end-to-end data science lifecycle, from research and experimentation to model deployment and maintenance, while focusing on privacy-enhancing technologies and government agency partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute rigorous experiments to evaluate emerging privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs).
- Develop proof-of-concepts that demonstrate real-world applicability and measurable impact.
- Stay current with academic research and translate findings into practical, deployable solutions.
- Contribute to the broader community through publications and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with government agencies to understand privacy challenges and operational constraints.
- Design and execute pilot programs to test PET solutions.
- Gather user feedback and iterate on solutions based on deployment experiences.
- Provide ongoing technical consultation and support to agencies.
- Architect and develop scalable solutions for the Whole of Government ecosystem.
- Establish implementation pathways and adoption frameworks for new privacy technologies.
- Work collaboratively with data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, and product managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong foundation in machine learning with hands-on experience in model development.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python.
- Extensive experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
- Ability to analyze model behavior, diagnose training issues, and optimize performance.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize and evaluate academic research papers.
- Experience designing and conducting rigorous experiments.
- Comfort working with ambiguous problems.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-moving Agile environment.
