About the Role

As a Data Scientist at Kyndryl, you will bridge the gap between complex business problems and innovative technical solutions. You will lead the end-to-end data science lifecycle, from research and experimentation to model deployment and maintenance, while focusing on privacy-enhancing technologies and government agency partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute rigorous experiments to evaluate emerging privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs).
  • Develop proof-of-concepts that demonstrate real-world applicability and measurable impact.
  • Stay current with academic research and translate findings into practical, deployable solutions.
  • Contribute to the broader community through publications and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with government agencies to understand privacy challenges and operational constraints.
  • Design and execute pilot programs to test PET solutions.
  • Gather user feedback and iterate on solutions based on deployment experiences.
  • Provide ongoing technical consultation and support to agencies.
  • Architect and develop scalable solutions for the Whole of Government ecosystem.
  • Establish implementation pathways and adoption frameworks for new privacy technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, and product managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong foundation in machine learning with hands-on experience in model development.
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python.
  • Extensive experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
  • Ability to analyze model behavior, diagnose training issues, and optimize performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and evaluate academic research papers.
  • Experience designing and conducting rigorous experiments.
  • Comfort working with ambiguous problems.
  • Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-moving Agile environment.
