About the Role

UN Women is seeking a consultant to enhance the Sharia Prosecution team's capacity to manage violence against women (VAW) cases effectively and in a gender-responsive manner. The primary objective is to improve women's protection and their access to justice through enhanced case management skills and inter-agency coordination.

Responsibilities

• Develop an inception report detailing the work plan, methodology, and deliverables.
• Meet with UN Women's technical team and focal points to discuss objectives, methods, and tools.
• Identify key training needs and topics with the SJD's focal points.
• Prepare training materials, pre- and post-training assessments, and submit them for feedback.
• Conduct a four-day training session.
• Develop and submit a training report outlining proceedings, outcomes, and assessment results.
• Submit a final narrative report detailing the assignment, achievements, methodology, lessons learned, and recommendations.

Requirements

• A master’s degree in gender studies, human rights, law, or a related field is required.
• A first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may substitute for an advanced degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in violence against women, women's protection, and access to justice.
• Experience in providing capacity-building training on women's protection and access to justice.
• Working knowledge of Arabic is required.
• Working knowledge of English is required.

• Within this framework, UN Women is providing technical support to the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), High Judicial Council (HJC), Palestinian civil police (PCP), the Official Gazette Bureau (OGB), the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD), the Supreme Judge Department and the Attorney General Office (AGO) to mainstream gender into their policies, plans, procedures and practices.
