About the Role
Greencross Vet is seeking veterinary nurses for its AREN Specialist and Emergency hospitals across Australia. This role involves supporting veterinarians in examinations, treatments, and surgeries, as well as providing direct animal care and client education.
Responsibilities
- Hold animals to allow examination and treatment by Veterinarians.
- Clean and sterilize examination tables and equipment.
- Prepare instruments and hand them to the Veterinarian.
- Assist Veterinarians in administering anaesthetics and oxygen during operations.
- Place animals in cages for recovery from operations and monitor their condition.
- Give medications to animals.
- Maintain stock control and records.
- Provide animal care advice and prepare, deliver, and review animal care education programs.
- Perform diagnostic laboratory tests.
- Act as a receptionist, accept payments, and undertake clerical work.
Requirements
- International veterinary nurses with a minimum of 2 years full-time post-qualification experience may be eligible for sponsorship.
