About the Role

At Team Global Express, safety is core to our operations. We are seeking an experienced Head of Safety to lead safety strategy and execution, shaping and elevating HSE standards and driving a unified safety culture. This role involves partnering with senior leaders to embed best-in-class systems and ensure safe, compliant, and operationally excellent outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of HSE strategy, translating it into clear operational plans and measurable outcomes
  • Drive risk management initiatives to identify, control, and minimise critical risks
  • Provide visible safety leadership, championing cultural change and continuous improvement
  • Partner with business leaders to build HSE capability and embed best practices
  • Lead and develop a team of HSE professionals, creating a high-performance function
  • Oversee incident investigations (ICAM), ensuring root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions
  • Deliver insightful reporting and recommendations to senior stakeholders to influence decision-making
  • Ensure strong compliance with HSE legislation, standards (ISO45001, ISO14001, etc.), and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and strengthen HSE assurance programs, audits, and governance frameworks
  • Support bids, tenders, and stakeholder engagement, including regulators and external partners

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years’ experience in senior HSE leadership roles within complex operational environments
  • Deep expertise in HSE legislation, risk frameworks, and management systems (ISO standards)
  • Proven ability to lead cultural transformation and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong experience in incident investigation methodologies (e.g. ICAM)
  • Exceptional communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrated success in building and developing high-performing teams
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into practical, operational outcomes
