About the Role
Provides a professional and calm attitude to the communications center, serving as a vital link between staff, emergency responders, clients, and the public.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all radio traffic and control radio conversations.
- Answer phones professionally and friendly, and check voicemail regularly.
- Prioritize and multitask to respond to several calls simultaneously, following proper protocols.
- Proficiently use computers and communication systems, checking for proper functioning at the start of each shift.
- Keep accurate records of all radio and phone communications, and document incidents.
- Utilize district information and computer search engines to locate information for field staff assisting the public.
- Implement emergency SOPs while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Proactively monitor CCTV cameras and report illegal activity (at some locations).
- Monitor office entrances and security cameras, and maintain a clean reception area (at some locations).
Requirements
- Dispatch experience preferred.
- High call volume experience is a plus.
- CCTV monitoring experience is a plus.
- Administrative skills including Microsoft Office proficiency are required.
- Hospitality skills are required.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak and write proficiently in English.
- Proficient in computer usage and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to maintain a calm, quiet, and professional atmosphere.
- Ability to competently perform all essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Demonstrated commitment to effective customer service delivery.
- Ability to work productively as a member of a team or work group.
