About the Role
Prepare and assist in developing design drawings, change notices, and bills of materials for facility modifications, equipment, and projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepares or revises selected drawings (electrical/mechanical/civil/instrument) and other documentation for installation, modification, and operation of electrical/electronic facilities or equipment.
- Gathers, organizes, and develops engineering data; performs field investigations to determine as-built conditions and design requirements.
- Provides field prints, check prints, and working copies of documents to expedite the generation of final engineering drawings.
- Ensures conformance to procedures, government regulations, and selected codes and standards.
- Compiles all required documentation for assigned projects into a complete package for review and approval.
- Maintains and updates all Design Configuration Documents using CADD and manual drafting techniques.
- Produces accurate, concise, and thorough engineering documents using manual or CADD techniques and related software.
- May perform plant walk-downs for constructability and design verification.
- Applies appropriate skills to resolve issues and critical thinking in resolving problems.
- Effectively works in a team environment and provides a positive contribution.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED.
- Completed two years of college or technical school coursework in AutoCAD or a technical discipline, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- PC skills in a Windows environment.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Minimum of Associate's Degree or technical school certification in AutoCAD plus two years of electrical utility design experience (for Level II).
- Must demonstrate effective interpersonal, communications and PC skills in a Windows environment.
