About the Role

Vapi is seeking a DevSecOps Lead to enhance the security of its product and infrastructure for enterprise clients. This hands-on role involves ensuring compliance and security as the company scales, reporting to Tejas Siripurapu in Core Engineering. You will collaborate with InfoSec, Engineering, and GTM teams, significantly impacting enterprise customer confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Make Vapi's security posture world-class for the enterprise by shifting security left, catching regressions during code review and CI, and hardening multi-tenant infrastructure.
  • Build automation as a security primitive, including agentic systems for penetration testing and auto-remediation.
  • Own the compliance roadmap end-to-end with InfoSec, including Drata and audit-readiness automations for new regions and regulated industries.
  • Partner with Engineering, InfoSec, and GRC to build usable security guardrails.
  • Serve as the authority for Sales and GTM, assuring prospects and customers of Vapi's security posture.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of engineering experience, with significant time in modern cloud-native SaaS (AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, ideally VoIP).
  • Strong understanding of security in a multi-tenant cloud environment serving regulated enterprise customers with many third-party integrations.
  • High proficiency writing and reviewing code.
  • Invested in shift-left security.
  • Collaborative approach to building guardrails with security, engineering, and GRC partners.
