About the Role
We are creating a brand new Senior Director, Revenue Technology & Innovation role sitting at the intersection of commercial ambition and technical execution. This is a force-multiplier role that functions as the de facto CTO for Pinterest's Global Business Organization. You will build and lead this function from the ground up — recruiting exceptional talent, deploying applied AI to transform our sales motion, and architecting technical solutions that directly unlock revenue. This is a rare opportunity to operate with startup-level speed and creative latitude, backed by the data, infrastructure, and global audience scale of one of the world's most beloved consumer platforms.
Responsibilities
- Build & Lead a World-Class Revenue Technology Team: Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performance, cross-functional team of Solution Engineers, Product Managers, Program Managers, and Sales Tooling Specialists structured for rapid prototyping and high-impact delivery.
- Design and evolve the team's operating model, org structure, and culture — instilling a Builder-Strategist mindset that prioritizes velocity, ownership, and commercial outcomes.
- Manage a dynamic portfolio of high-impact initiatives, ruthlessly prioritizing based on revenue potential and strategic urgency.
- Implement a fast-track development lifecycle distinct from core R&D cadence, focused on MVP delivery, rapid iteration, and measurable business results.
- Drive Strategic Partner Integrations & Solution Engineering: Serve as the senior technical authority in high-stakes partner engagements across Commerce, AdTech, and Agency ecosystems — translating complex business requirements into actionable integration strategies.
- Design and oversee the development of bespoke APIs, middleware, and data connectors that allow strategic partners to integrate directly into Pinterest's ecosystem when standard solutions fall short.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Global Business Organization and Core Engineering, ensuring custom solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with Pinterest's long-term architectural vision.
- Deploy Applied AI Across the Revenue Organization: Move beyond the AI hype curve to implement practical, high-ROI automation across the sales and GTM stack — including automated RFP generation, predictive lead scoring, intelligent account routing, and advertiser ROI modeling.
- Treat the Global Business Organization as your internal customer: build the internal tools, dashboards, and workflows that give leadership real-time visibility and give frontline teams a genuine competitive advantage.
- Conduct end-to-end audits of the GTM lifecycle to identify friction points, then architect and deploy automated solutions that eliminate manual toil and accelerate deal velocity.
- Incubate Net-New Revenue Concepts: Rapidly prototype and pilot new revenue-generating experiences — including shopping formats, ad products, and creator tools — in targeted markets ahead of broader product adoption.
- Serve as the technical connective tissue between Pinterest's US headquarters and our European and global markets, ensuring regional nuances are addressed while preserving global system integrity.
- Champion a culture of experimentation and measured risk-taking that keeps Pinterest at the forefront of advertising and commerce innovation.
- Operate as an Executive Thought Leader: Influence at the executive level — both internally across Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal, and externally with partner and advertiser C-suites.
- Build alignment across a complex, matrixed organization with high emotional intelligence, political acuity, and a track record of getting to "yes" through trust and credibility.
- Represent Pinterest's revenue technology vision in strategic conversations with agency holding companies, commerce platforms, and enterprise advertisers.
Requirements
- 12+ years of technical leadership experience, including 5+ years in a Head-of or Director-level capacity leading solution/sales engineering, product, and/or technology operations organizations.
- Demonstrated track record of building from zero — you have recruited, scaled, and developed high-performing cross-functional teams in environments that rewarded speed and scrappiness over process.
- Deep domain expertise in AdTech, MarTech, or E-commerce — you understand the mechanics of digital monetization including CPMs, attribution modeling, feed management, and the full advertiser lifecycle.
- Hands-on technical authority: strong command of API design (REST/GraphQL), microservices, event-driven architecture, and modern development practices (CI/CD, agile, automated testing).
- Applied AI fluency: practical experience leveraging LLMs (OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic) via API for business process automation, with knowledge of RAG architectures and agentic workflow design being a strong differentiator.
- Commercial fluency: you speak "revenue" as naturally as you speak "code" — you understand P&L ownership, margin implications, sales cycles, and what it takes to move a business metric.
- Executive-level communication skills: you can distill technical complexity into compelling narratives for a non-technical C-suite audience and inspire confidence in partners and internal stakeholders alike.
- US based applicants only.
